We need as many soccer parents as possible to stop in tomorrow, Monday, May 4th at the Christiansburg Rec Center and share their support for multi-purpose fields. Soccer is the biggest of the recreational sports in Montgomery County, and we need more multi-purpose fields. In fact 3 of the 4 largest outdoor youth sports need multipurpose fields: soccer, football, and lacrosse.
We are in no way trying to minimize the need for baseball/softball fields, but would ask that 3/4 of the field space be used for multipurpose fields that can be used for soccer, football, and lacrosse. Please see the message below and try to stop in to the open house next Monday. If you bring your child, please have them wear their CSC shirt.
Dennis Nagel, President
Christiansburg Soccer Club
I hope you all are doing well. I wanted to send you an email making you aware of a Public Open House Meeting on the Truman Wilson Park. This meeting will take place on Monday, May 4th from 4-6pm at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. You do not have to be here for the entire 2 hours but you can simply stop by share your visions and ask questions in just a few minutes of time. I ask that you make this a priority as this is going to help build the community for the future. Please don’t let this opportunity pass by. This is the perfect opportunity to let our consultants know what soccer, lacrosse and most importantly recreation means to you and what we need from a recreational perspective for the future as we grow our community. I know from looking at the field schedules recently most of our fields in the community are very busy and many times completely booked up. This is that opportunity to understand our Parks and Recreation Master Plan that was completed last fiscal year and move forward with the shaping of the Truman Wilson Park Master Plan as we prepare for the future. I have attached a flyer for your viewing. I hope to see you on Monday, May 4th between 4-6p at the Recreation Center.
