The U12G CSC Crash finished out their season winning the 2016 National Bank Summer Kickoff Tournament in Blacksburg VA, May 21 and 22.
They went 2-0-2 with wins over Triangle United Everton and East River Raptors and ties against Salem and Monticello. The team worked extremely hard this season and left everything on the field this weekend!
The Crash finished in second place last month at the Elite Beat the Heat Tournament in Winston-Salem NC. They are coached by Matt Mullens and play in the Blue Ridge Soccer League.
The CSC Blue Bombers won their division in the NRU National Bank Summer Kick-off Tournament played at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg VA, May 21 and 22.
They started off the tournament with a win against the CSC Blue Wave 5-3. Their next game was against Johnson City Futbol JCFC. This was a very physical game but the Bombers played tough and came through with another win 2-1.
On the second day of the tournament the Bombers faced NRU for their first game. This was a tough one as the Bombers came up short with a loss 3-1. Despite the loss the Bombers made in into the finals based on points and faced NRU one final time for the championship game. This was arguably one of the CSC Blue Bombers best games of the season. With a goal scored early by Taylor Allen the Bombers took the lead. Thanks to the strong goalie performance by Hannah Blankenship and strong defensive performance that was the only goal they needed. However, Taylor Allen had one more in her and they clinched the lead 2-0 winning the final game against NRU and winning first place in the tournament.
Each player played a vital role in this win and it would not have been possible without the contribution of each and every girl on the team.
At this time I would like to recognize and congratulate all of the U10 Girls CSC Blue Bombers for their accomplishment:
Our end-of-season party is just around the corner. As always, the party is free to players/coaches/managers and their families. More details to follow.

The CSC U12G Crash finished in second place at the Elite Beat the Heat Tournament in Winston-Salem NC this past weekend.
The championship match was full of drama. They were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time. In the last 30 seconds of the second 10-minute extra period, they scored to even the game to 2-2. Penalty kicks decided the game, leaving our Crash disappointed at the end.
No one likes to win or lose a game by PKs, but our girls had nerves of steel and showed a ton of character. They fell short in the end, but an amazing showing for them on the weekend.

PARENT PARTICIPATION NEEDED!
We are in need of more coaching volunteers. Our rec program runs entirely on time donated by volunteer coaches. At this point we do not have enough coaches in any age level to begin forming teams.
Coaching is an awesome way to be involved in all the fun. You do not need to have any coaching or soccer experience at all; Simply a desire to create a fun experience for the players and their families and to be an enthusiastic supporter of the game. We will provide you with coach training, help with putting together a practice, and being on hand for any assistance that you need.
We have heard time and time again from parents how rewarding coaching has been for them and their family. Many of these parents never had any experience with soccer but have grown with the sport along with their players. Please consider volunteering your time.
If you have any questions on coaching or the time commitment required, please email me. I’ve coached all divisions and have loved every minute of it. It truly is such fun.
*If your player is currently on the wait list but you plan to coach, please email me as soon as possible.
