Please see below for the dates and times for travel team tryouts at Christiansburg Middle School. Also please find below the link for registration. All teams are organized by player birth year — please find your player’s section in the list below and register appropriately.
Travel soccer is a more competitive soccer level as compared to Academy or Recreation levels. We strive to keep travel costs affordable and to have regional games. All regular season travel games are single day trips and do not require overnight travel. Please don’t be afraid to try travel soccer. Many families have found that the horror stories with travel soccer do not apply to our league. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you have to CSC President Daniel Gibson at christiansburgsoccer@gmail.com .

Just a reminder that today (Friday, March 18th 2022) is the day for CSC clothing and equipment distribution to coaches or their appointed substitute. This will be held at Christiansburg Middle School, near the front gate to the fields. Kindergarten teams please show up around 5:45 PM so we can get you what you need and you can get on the fields and get started. Everyone else please show up about 6:00 PM. Below you will find the expectations for what each level will receive, in addition to their clothing bag:
PreK/Kindergarten: One PUGG goal (please check for damage to ground tether spikes, as we have some spares). A few cones, if needed.
U8: A few cones, if needed.
U10/U13: A few cones, if needed. Two pinnies for goalkeepers.
With games starting today, we thought it useful to again point out the Recreation league game guides available here: https://csoccer.org/rec-game-guides/
Let us know if you have any questions!
With practices currently going on for Recreation League U8 and up and PreK and Kindergarten starting at the end of this week, we want to make sure all questions are being answered, especially from our volunteer coaches. We are currently working on the clothing and equipment distribution plan and details will be forthcoming soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please reply on this csoccer.org post or on the Facebook page. If you have a question, you likely aren’t the only one, so please go ahead and ask. Thanks!
Just a friendly weekend reminder. We’re asking all volunteers from last season (head coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers), at all levels (Rec, Academy, Travel) to re-register here . This makes things a bit easier on our end organizationally for background checks, etc.
Additionally, if you have a child that participated in CSC Academy last season and wish to continue this season, please re-register here . We’d love to have you back, but we need the re-registration completed.
Our friends at DICK’S Sporting Goods have created a very nice shopping event for CSC families! During the weekend of February 18th-21st 2022, bring this coupon and save 20% on purchases store-wide at the Christiansburg DICK’S Sporting Goods store.
Please read carefully as there has been an update to this post!
Last update Wednesday September 8th 2:45 PM.
First week:
K Sessions – Friday Sept 10, 6 PM, Christiansburg Middle School
Pre-K Sessions Saturday Sept 11, 10:15 AM, Christiansburg Middle School
U8-U13 Games Saturday Sept 11 Morning (see schedules below and/or coch for specifics, U10 and U13 still in flux due to referee scheduling)
U18 Games TBD
For Pre-K and K divisions, families, please come to CMS about 15 minutes before your scheduled session. This will give you time to meet up with a CSC representative at the gate, receive jerseys*, and a size 3 ball if your child needs one. Please make sure children are properly wearing shin guards underneath long socks. Coaches will meet up with a CSC representative to receive equipment such as cones and pop-up goals and will keep them throughout the season and turn them in following the week 8 session. *Please note that in most cases coaches have picked up a bundle of jerseys for their team, or will be able to pick up a bundle of jerseys for their team. However, due to accommodations and other roster changes there will undoubtedly be situations where teams have too few or too many jerseys. Please turn in extras to the CSC representative and please see the CSC representative if you need jerseys. On the schedules below, each field number has two teams listed. There will be flags placed in the ground with numbers to help orient families to the correct field. Teams listed as “Home” should have their children slip on the grey jersey and teams listed as “Away” should have their children slip on the blue jersey. Coaches will lead drills and mini-games for half the session and then the two teams sharing a field will play each other in a game with coaches as referees. Please see the game guides for more details on division rules.
For U8 boys and girls, your schedules include fields and times. Teams please look the schedule over and let us know if you find any errors. Coaches, please make sure to communicate with families in case of any changes.
For U10 and U13 boys, girls, and coed, your schedules will come soon. Please communicate with coaches for exact details. We are depending on other agencies to help supply referees and fields and we may have to change things with short notice. Coaches can add and edit events into SportsEngine to help manage this effort. In the event of a change be sure to follow the CSC website and social media for last minute changes. We will notify whole teams if the schedule changes.
For U18, we are still working on finding games for you in the local area. Please contact CSC if you wish to use a Saturday as an extra practice day or inter-squad scrimmage and we will help coordinate assigning field space.
For all levels: It is always best every week to bring both color jerseys to practice in case there is a miscommunication or too few / too many players on a team to play. This will save you the trouble of having to run back home when you find out your team is “home” and not “away” or vice versa!
Please contact us with any questions or concerns!
